Mlekarna Celeia is a company with a long tradition of milk processing, as well as a laboratory, given that the latter has been present the dairy since since it was established. Since 1986, it has been located at the existing site in Arja vas, on the first floor of the production part of the plant.

As early as 1986, the laboratory was equipped with analysis devices for measuring chemical parameters in milk (Milkoscan, FOSS), while in 1994 additional analysis devices were installed for counting somatic cells and the total number of microorganisms (Bactoscan).

In its operations, the laboratory pursues its objectives and thereby ensures:

qualityaccuracyimpartiality
confidentialitytraceability of results

In the raw milk analysis laboratory, we perform the following tests at the client’s request (accredited methods are marked with **):

  • determination of the total microbial count by flow cytometry (PM-3, 3rd ed.). **;
  • determination of milk fat, protein and lactose content in milk by infrared spectrometry according to ISO 9622:2013 (IDF 141:2013) **;
  • determination of the milk freezing point by infrared spectrometry (PM-8, 6th ed.) **;
  • determination of urea content and solids-non-fat by infrared spectrometry;
  • determination of the freezing point of milk by the thermistor method according to SIST EN ISO 5764:2009 (IDF 108:2009) **;
  • determination of somatic cell count by flow cytometry according to SIST EN ISO 13366-2:2007 (IDF 148-2:2006) **;
  • detection of inhibitory substances in milk using the Delvotest SP-NT method (PM-18, 7th ed.) **;
  • determination of antibiotics in milk using rapid screening methods;
  • determination of aflatoxins in milk using rapid screening methods.

A cooperation network has been set up with milk purchasing organisations and the Agricultural Institute of Slovenia (the KIS – Kmetijski inštitut Slovenije). At the request of the client/animal owner, the laboratory may forward the results of the analyses to the local/farm veterinarian. • CHEESES – determination of fat, protein, dry matter, fat in dry matter, NaCl content in dairy products,
  • FRESH CHEESES – determination of fat, protein, dry matter, fat in dry matter, pH, and
  • FERMENTED MILK PRODUCTS (YOGURT, SOUR MILK, SOUR CREAM) – determination of fat, protein, pH, viscosity.
